Get Organised with Islamic Moments

Islamic Moments Notebook

It's still the beginning of the year, so it's not too late. Is there ever a better time to start? I mean, we haven't fully gotten into the year yet, and everyone is still on their "new years resolutions". If you haven't added this one to your list yet, maybe by the end of this post, you'll be that step closer to doing it. And yes, I'm talking about getting organised.

I'll be honest, I hate that word. It always makes me feel like I am not doing enough to keep everything in order. I'm not doing enough! I wish I was. I wish I was one of those people that wake up super early in the morning, plan for my week and jot down my goals. I wish I was into bullet journal-ling too. It's the new thing right? I'm sure a lot of creative people with super busy lives are into it. I'm creative and also super busy, but I have just never sat down to even try out bullet journal-ling. Maybe now is the time to start!

The reason I have chosen now is because I have been really good with creating lists and goals in my head all of my life. All up until now. There is literally a million and one things to do every, single, day. I have goals and aspirations and certain things I want to get done at certain times, but sometimes it feels impossible. And lately, I've been feeling like it's down to not having a journal.

After thinking of getting organised and starting a bullet journal for a while, I was contacted by the stationary company Islamic Moments. Talk about perfect timing right? And then I thought that's it, now's the time! I'm going to officially start a journal. I have goals, and aspirations. If I don't start now, when will I?

If you haven't heard of Islamic Moments, they are an Islamic stationary company. Their products range from Eid decorations and cards to colourful mugs and Islamic stationary. I love how colourful and attractive the designs on their products are. With gorgeous Islamic calligraphy and pretty colourful dots and prints, who wouldn't be attracted to one of their notebooks?

I was offered one of their notebooks for a review and here it is. This colourful Multi Calligraffiti notebook. The beautiful girly and colourful cover really stood out to me. I love a good attractive cover and this one certainly is. They have many available in different colours so if you're interested, check out their website! Islamicmoments.co.uk

Okay so back to MY notebook now. One of my favourite parts of this book is the front caption which says "My Planner Insha'Allah" I love this. I have never seen a notebook with an Islamic caption on the front.

In sha'Allah meaning "if God wills" is such a beautiful idea for the notepad. It's like saying, "I'll write inside you today if God wills" because we don't actually know if we'll be able to! If only God wills, we'll be able to do anything at all. So In sha'Allah (if God wills) this will be my getting organised notebook!

Also, isn't the beautiful calligraphy on the cover so stunning? Want to know what it means, I certainly did, all I needed to do was flip to the back cover and there was the translation! "If it is important enough to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse". This just shows how much thought was actually put into the making of the notebook. The translation is very fitting to the notebook. I love things that have had a lot of attention to detail put in.

bullet journal

Why is getting organised such a great idea? Why do we need books and notepads and lists? Those are questions I have always wondered and now I finally understand why.

Unless we organise ourselves, things probably won't get finished. We'll end up feeling muddled up and end up forgetting half the things we set out to do in our days. Especially when you have kids and you have a household to hold down. Let's be honest, some people may think otherwise but trying to keep a house organised itself is a big job. So from keeping your house organised to balancing working and motherhood, or even simply trying to achieve those goals you've always dreamed of, try it out!

Here are a few questions to ask yourself before you start one.

  1. Are you busy?
  2. Do you have aspirations?
  3. Do you end up with loads of unfinished projects?
If you find yourself so busy that you can't even find the time to sit and write in a journal, then try and make time for your journal. You're probably thinking what is she talking about? I don't have time! Well, make a little investment and it will go a long way. Here are some tips to get started:

  • One of the best times in your day to plan is early in the morning. It's the calmest time of the day. If you have kids, wake up half an hour before them and have a bit of time to think and jot down some notes. Think about what you want to do and how you want to achieve it. And if you think bullet journal-ling sounds too much, then just make notes. They don't have to look nice, they just need to express what you're thinking.
  • Split up your goals. Split them up into little chunks that you can digest easily. Sometimes we want to get a lot done in a small amount of time and it isn't possible, so splitting them into a good timeframe will help.
  • Tick them off as you go, this way you'll always feel like you're that step closer to achieving what you've set out to do!

If these are all things you can relate to, I'd say it's probably a good time to start. I'll just leave you with this great quote.
"If it is important enough to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse"

    1. I used to keep journals as a young kid, but it kind of fizzled out. Yeah I think sticking to it and going back to it regularly might help. I'm hoping it works for me.

  8. Woah the quote at the end really gets you thinking. But its true, and we should never think of praying or learning more about Islam as a chore. May Allah guide us all. (Www.beautywithzainy.com and www.spicyfusionkitchen.com)
